MyChub Mission

MyChub Mission:

We are a small community but our numbers are continuing growing. The motive for MyChub is to make friends. We realize that for many Chubby Malaysians, the facets to meet and mingle with other Chubbys is a very limited option. The only way to meet each other is through the Internet. Here in MyChub, we value friendship. It is nice to know that we have friends that can share our deepest and most intimate secret!! Being Chubby and Fat !! We enjoy each other's company and hopefully we can make more friends.

The world is too much laden with the misconception that being slim is beautiful. Chubbies or fat people are being shunned as ugly and unbecoming. This is also true inside the world where slim is considered handsome. In short, chubs are queers within a queer society. Feeling alone in this world, being outcasted and mocked by Chubby people can be extremely painful. A lot of the chubs that we know are so stone hearted. They cannot trust anybody because they are so emotionally abused in their life. Physically the are happy and cheerful but emotionally they are in deep pain. Most have no where to turn to. With MyChub, we hope to change all that. We want you to know that you are worthy and wanted, loved and adored by many.

All in all, our true goal is to create a safe haven for chubs. A place where they feel they belong. A place where they can have a peace of mind. Where friends are true friends. Where you are not manipulated or out casted by people. A place of love, cherish and hope. Open your arms and heart for we will embrace you will all our hearts.

About MyChub

MyChub was created by three hard working friends who had thought that there is the need to create a chubby & chasers club in Malaysia. The 3 main founders are: AbuChub (Abu), GemuKChub (Moks) & NakAbahGemok (NAG). Of course, there are many more people involved before the creation of MyChub. Carl was first the person who conceived the idea for an Asian Chub Club (ABC3) back in 1997.

1997

The first try was the creation of Asian Bear Chubbies & Chasers Club (ABC3). NAG with the help of Moks set out to create the basic homepage. However, the club did not went on so well. Internet penetration was low at that time and the idea of a chubby club was very far from being the mainstream idea of the PLU society at that time. Their first gathering was attended by 4 people.. zackie97, chubmeo, NAG and GMoks.

On the hills of Kajang Mewah, in 1997, the initiation started with Mofanora as the mediator.. breaking the ice as we got to know each other better. We learned that we have so much in common.. we learned about the recipe that makes us like chubs so much. There the foundation of MyChub started where it will be based on friendship, trust and the love for chubbies.

1998

With the effort of Abu_Chub, The "MyChub" name was conceived. It was a real effort to put the website back online. Abu_Chub administers the irc chatroom from his office during his spare time, while GemuKChub (out of work) does the website from a "borrowed" telephone line in The Mines, Serdang. "Money was scarce and internet access was expensive. We were putting around 6 hours a day online to promote the site and chatroom" said GemukChub. By this time, more and more Malaysian people had began to realize the existance of a Malaysian Chubby Group -- MyChub. NAG contributed to the first logo of mychub.

1999

Later in 1999, xLi & Jucy came into the scene. They conceived the idea of membership and gatherings. .In this year also, MyChub had created a long lasting tie with Chubnet, with their support and encouragement, We begun to be recognised internationally. The first mychub website now know internationally as :- http://www.chubnet.com/mychub began to take shape under the careful nurturing of GemuKChub. While NAG & Abu_Chub laid out the first foundation for the MyChub iRC chatroom and MyChub E-Circle. Menwhile, xLi (fondly called Mummy & Jucy called Daddy) began to organize small gatherings for MyChub new members and introduces the MyChub Membership Card.

2000
The first gathering was held at Dataran Merdeka Food Court. The turn-out was unexpected as we get to know one another. There we suddenly realize that there are so many of us that share the passion for Chub. Unfortumately, many of us we in hiding because it was not the norm. Thus we had found our mission, MyChub would try to change this mis-perception. That Gay Chubbies do exist and are here to stay. Later, Miss Woo's Birthday Party in Genting Highlands was thought as the key turning point in uniting MyChub. There the common bond grew into a tight-knit camaraderie.
The creation of MyChub Presidential seat and election of committee members were carried out, with Jucy becoming the 1st self appointed leader. Initially, there were plans to create MyChub Cafe (Pasta Pesto), however it was unanimously out voted by the committee members. Later that year, MyChub carried out their 1st Annual Dinner. One event after another rolled out. Majlis Buka Puasa, Hari Raya Celebration and Chinese New Year, Chap Goh Mei to name a few. Many activities went on successfully, which of course must be credited to the hard-working members of mychub.

2001

MyChub grew by leaps and bounds. The 2nd Annual Dinner was a success with appraisal flowing in from in and out of Malaysia. More activities were carried out such as The MyChub Family Day in Port Dickson. Due to the success of MyChub in Kuala Lumpur. Other states in Malaysia as well have found the courage to form a MyChub community in their area. To date, MyChub JB, Melacca & Penang have succesfully organized their own gatherings as a facet to meet members and share common grounds.

2002
Daddy Jucy & Mummy Xli, on their own free will, resigned from the post of president and vice-president. It is a great unsuspected loss to all of the members, but unavoidable. Some of mychub members participated in the Pink MegaBall 2002 organized by Pink Triangle. MyChub expanded as well with the addition of MyChub Daddies & MyChub Bear communities. After seeing the success of MyChub, other chub & chasers groups are mushrooming with the likes of "BigBoyz", "Chubbies", "Persoalan", "MySlim" and "Bearuang" coming into the scene. This is a healthy growth as this shows that although Malaysia is a small country... it is a haven for chub & chasers alike.

This year is also the year for the introduction of a new scheme called MyChub representative. With so many new members pouring in from all over the country, The advent of MyChub Reps helps to ease the burden of event management and decentralize the administration of MyChub. Gatherings and events can now be handled locally with more participation within each Malaysian state.

2003

This year promises a lot more to be expected. A new chubby friendly venue called The BLEUbar, KL (managed by BobSani) was added to the scene. And new ties were made with other gay IRC channels like #SayangAbang, #Nyah and #Batang. The are also 2 new extensions to MyChub first being MyChub Sabah (under CasperDiver/Skin-Chub) and the latter MyChub JB (under Maori27). More MyChub extensions are in the process of developing. MyChub website has matured by leaps and bounds with recognition pouring in from all over the world. The site was featured in 2 leading Gay magazine :- G-Men Magazine (Japan) and Dim Sum Magazine (Hong Kong).

Within the MyChub website, new interactive services were also introduced such as MyCard-Greetings, MySMS, MyPersonals and MyBlogger in which the contents are updated virtually everyday. New pioneering services were also created for the community such as links to Radio Gaydar, MyCandid camera.

We are also proud that our representative had successfully hosted various MyChub gatherings all over Malaysia. Starting from JB, Penang, KL, Melacca and Sabah. This shows that through dedication and hard work, we can make it happen. We are also proud that many from the chubbies community eagerly extends their helping hand either in-directly by sponsoring our events or directly by helping out with the process.

2004
In this year, is the birth of MyChub.ORG. It's our biggest project yet. From the static website hosted at a free hosting site, we have evolved to become a dynamic content provider with an advance Open-Source CMS system called Mambo. A paid hosting by donations from a generous sponsor has helped us make all this possible. We started out our first hosting at Emerge.com.

Later that year, we moved to Fivio.com and given a 2nd sponsorship by the good people at Fivio. Thus, with 2 sites combined seemlessly into 1. We had managed to cater to a more complex services such as MyProfiles (with a personal link), MyPrivate Gallery, MyForum, MyVideo Server, MyStories and much much more.

A setback to our projects was the closing of BLEUbar. Thus, we lose a valuable meeting point for chubs and chasers in KL.

This is also the year of forging ties with our conterparts in Bangkok, Thailand. We are very well received and hope to make stronger ties with the infamous iChub. A very well know venue for Thais and foreigners alike.

2005
Is the year of innovations, with more corporate sponsorship pouring in, MyChub.ORG introduces 2 new services i.e: MyChub Podcast (audio - http://mychub.org/podcast) and mychubTV (video - http://mychub.org/mychubtv) servers. This innovative services is a milestone for chubs and chasers everywhere because now MyChub provides the power of voice and views of the our chub and chaser community. More innovations were added and can be seen at http://mychub-versions.blogspot.com.

A new meeting point was established at AJ Laris Restaurant, Brickfields, KL. With the help of the friendly owner, AJ. We are set to make a comeback this year. This is also fueled by the close proximity of Sentral Sauna, which by chance has become one of the hottest venue for Chubs, Daddies, Bears & Chasers in KL.

This is also the year of forging ties with our conterparts in Jakarta, Indonesia. We receive an overwhelming response and acceptance in our neighbouring country. And we hope that this new relationship will bring a better future for mychub.

2006
A few events colors the calendar of this year. The Pankor trip. The Buka Puasa Gathering. The Hari Raya Gathering. A new meeting place was set-up at Musictheque which was then moved to Orange Club, Jln Kia Peng. And then moved again to Bisik Bistro, Jln Ampang. A MyChub HOT Star 2006 event was proposed. The BALI 2006 gathering was also proposed in collaboration with IndoChub (The Indonesian Chubs and Chasers Group).

2007
